Safilin, manufacturers of the best hemp yarn
Tabio aims to work with the best materials to make the best socks.
Safilin is the oldest linen spinning company in Europe, worn even by Louis XVI and Napoleon. It was established at the end of the Bourbon dynasty in the city of Lille in 1778. They have a reliable eye that can assess the quality of the linen raw material flow. They have the know-how to comb and dye the yarns according to their yield in order to stabilise their quality. Safilin is always looking for the best spinning techniques to produce their finest yarns.
A passion and know-how honed over two centuries. Safilin yarn is less stiff and softer than ordinary linen. Our Japanese workshops have contributed to this development thanks to its modern dyeing technique, which gives our socks optimum colouring.
The benefits of linen
Linen has a good insulating capacity and is 2 to 3 times more resistant than cotton. So it can last longer. Safilin yarns and the Japanese technique work together to produce socks with a bright, colourful but above all comfortable and pleasant to wear appearance..
The material is antibacterial and hypoallergenic which is appreciated by those with sensitive skin. It feels refreshing and absorbs sweat very well, keeping feet comfortably dry throughout the day.
Linen is also eco-friendly as it does not require fertiliser or watering, only rainfall. Linen is entirely biodegradable. In addition to this, its transformation into yarn is carried out using natural processes and not chemical ones.
What should I look out for when washing these socks?
To prevent smells and stains from remaining after washing: turn the socks before washing them. If you want to wash them in the washing machine, it is recommended to wash them at 40°C. In order to keep the softness and suppleness of linen, it is recommended to air dry rather than machine dry: by doing this you will be able to wear your socks better.
Our styling suggestions
You can wear them with sports sandals, casual shoes, loafers etc. It's up to you to choose what suits you best! Linen is also wearable all year round as in winter it can provide warmth when you need it. It is a must have in your wardrobe.
